YOUTH VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
At Habitat for Humanity, we believe that everyone—regardless of age—can be a force for positive change. While certain volunteer roles, like construction or ReStore work, may have minimum age requirements, there are still plenty of impactful ways for youth to get involved. From organizing fundraisers and donation drives to spreading awareness and supporting events, young volunteers bring energy, creativity, and passion to our mission of building homes, communities, and hope. Whether you're a student, part of a youth group, or looking to fulfill service hours, Habitat welcomes your dedication to making a difference.

Volunteer With a Parent or Guardian

-
ReStore
Youth ages 16–17 may volunteer in our ReStores with a parent or guardian present. They can help organize inventory, assist customers, or support donation intake.

-
Construction Site (Special Projects) Volunteers ages 16 and older are eligible to assist with ADA ramp builds. These projects are a great way to introduce hands-on construction work in a supervised environment.

Other Ways To Get Involved

You don’t have to swing a hammer to build a better community! Here are creative, impactful ways youth can support Habitat’s mission:

-
Start a Habitat Club
Organize fellow students to raise awareness, fundraise, and participate in Habitat events at your school.

-
Become a Neighborhood Recycling Ambassador
Promote sustainability in your community by collecting recyclables and sharing the Habitat story.

-
Lead a Fundraiser
Host a car wash, bake sale, or online campaign. Every dollar helps build affordable housing for families in need.

-
Build a Website or Social Media Campaign
Use your tech and communication skills to create awareness about the affordable housing crisis and Habitat’s work.
