This week in construction, we finally got to work on our new build on Pitchkettle Road in Suffolk. After our sub-contractor got our footings dug and poured just after the New Year, they got straight to work on the block foundation.
Home Builders Institute students worked alongside our construction manager earlier this week to get the box set. After it was inspected on Thursday, volunteers from HSC-26 Helping Hands, working with our Red Hats and the HBI students on Friday, made amazing progress on the build in one day.
The hardworking volunteers set the box and floor joists as well as the subfloor and exterior walls. We have a public build scheduled for Saturday, we're sure to see more outstanding progress by next week.
