Members of the Coast Guard, along with our Red Hats and Partner Family members were out this past week to help continue the framing on our S. Broad Street build out in Suffolk. Completing tasks like adding blocking in for wallboard and bracing the roof trusses were worked on this week. Sheathing is going up on the walls and the roof in order to get it weathered in to protect the framing against the elements. Once the house wrap is on the exterior walls and tar paper on the roof our busy builders will be able to move back to our build on Seaboard Avenue in Chesapeake.
Remember there's no experience necessary to volunteer in construction. We provide not only the tools but guidance as well. Due to the current nation-wide health crisis many of our volunteers aren't able to help, if you can please lend a hand. Just hover over "Volunteer" on our menu at the top of the page and click on "Construction and ReStore Schedules". Click on the construction schedule, watch the safety video and read the waiver before choosing a date that works for you and complete your registration! It's that easy!!
Hope to see you on the construction site soon!!
