For the Beckles family, it begins with a simple wish - a safe place to play outdoors. This is a shared wish between Janelle and her daughter, Alysia, ten years old. Janelle knows through homeownership their shared wish will come true.
Janelle is the youngest of four; with two brothers and a sister. She grew up in a stable family environment and is excited to be able to provide that for Alysia. Janelle grew up in Virginia Beach and won’t be too far from her parents when she begins home ownership in the City of Portsmouth.
Alysia is a Type 1 Diabetic, so it’s important she have the room and opportunity to be active. She is very excited about having her new room painted purple. She is regularly an Honor Roll student and plans to maintain those grades. Janelle is setting the example for her daughter. She plans to further her education and pursue a career. She’s leaning towards accounting and knows that a stable home environment will provide that opportunity. The two are over the moon about a yard to play in and are ready to start calling 138 Afton Parkway in Portsmouth home.
